When the pill was introduced in the sixties, in the very beginning, it was only sold to married couples who already had kids. Those laws where later changed, and today, even sixteen year old girls can get the pill with out much hassle. Without a doubt, the pill had a huge influence on the sex life of woman, and started the “sexual revolution”.
These days, the Monash University http://www.monash.edu.au/ in Australia created a testosterone spray to help boosting the sex lives of women with low libido. Of course this was invented to improve quality of life.
The spray may still need years of researched and further tests, but once it is on the market, I wonder what will happen. Viagra started out as a medicine, and now is a fast selling lifestyle drug, just over the course of a couple of years Will the spray do the same for woman? Or will men expect woman to “use” the spray for a night full of lust and love? What if the woman just doesn’t feel like it? Where does the “I want lust, right now” trend stop?
One thing is for sure, the trend can’t be stopped now, it is to late. The door of possibilities is wide open. I just hope that sex will still be a choice both make when there is passion, and not rather a question of what pills need to be taken and what spray should be used to “get in the mood”. Flowers, soft music and a nice dinner are usually also a very good way to get a girl in the mood, and I hope it stays that way.
